Six distinct trims define the redesigned Sierra 1500 lineup: Pro, Elevation, AT4, AT4X, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. The previous SLE and SLT trims are eliminated. Pro provides the work-focused foundation, while Elevation brings a sportier monochromatic appearance. AT4 and AT4X move toward premium off-road capability, and Denali and Denali Ultimate occupy the luxury end of the lineup.

Outside, the Sierra adopts a more chiseled stance influenced by the Sierra EV's design direction. An upright grille, prominent power-dome hood, C-shaped daytime running lights, and quad exhaust tips on V8-equipped models help establish the new look while giving the truck a commanding road presence.

Under the hood, the 2027 Sierra 1500 introduces notable powertrain changes. An upgraded 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder serves as the base engine, while a new 5.7-liter Gen VI small-block V8 replaces the previous 5.3-liter V8. Drivers seeking a larger gasoline engine can look to the new 6.6-liter Gen VI small-block V8, which replaces the previous 6.2-liter engine.

For shoppers who prefer diesel capability, the 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel inline-six remains part of the available powertrain selection. A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard across the lineup, giving each configuration a consistent transmission platform while allowing buyers to select an engine suited to their performance requirements.

Technology becomes a major focus inside the redesigned cabin. The dashboard incorporates a 12.2-inch driver display and a large 16.3-inch primary touchscreen, while an available 11.5-inch passenger display includes a privacy cover. Off-road enthusiasts can look toward the AT4X for specialized equipment designed to distinguish it from the rest of the lineup. Luxury takes another step forward with Denali and Denali Ultimate. The Denali Ultimate highlights premium leather, open-pore wood, and extensive digital displays, creating an interior designed to rival luxury SUVs. For the first time on a gas-powered Sierra 1500, a panoramic sunroof is also available, adding another premium feature to the redesigned truck.

Driver-assistance technology also advances with available Super Cruise. On top trims, the system includes a three-year subscription and supports hands-free driving even while towing a trailer, bringing advanced assistance to drivers who use their Sierra for more than everyday commuting.
